Climate Change and Basement Living
Due to climate change there has been an increased risk of flooding in areas previously thought as relatively safe.
The most common flood related problem is often caused by rising ground water.
Turning a basement into habitable accommodation is probably one of the most cost effective ways of creating additional living space in a house.
Basement Tanking Solutions
In order to make sure your basement remains dry and free from damp it’s important that it is covered in a membrane that’s either capable of withholding free water or able to manage the amounts that is likely to ingress. Although basement walls may not look damp at first, as they are in direct contact with the earth around them they will definitely need this treatment if the room is to be habitable.
